Collabos have always been big but never ever before interpreted like this. When celebrity tattoo artist Paul Timman linked up with Ink Dish, it was game over for dinnerware. Paul made the move from flesh to porcelain and has done so with success. As a hugely popular and talented tattoo artist, Paul has inked the likes of Angelina Jolie (dragon on back), Ben Affleck (cross on biceps) and Mark Wahlberg (banner design) to name a few. In 2008, Paul decided to partner up with InkDish.com and delve into the world of dinnerware design. Paul went to work and created a line of porcelain dinnerware designed with a Japanese style of tattooing called irezumi. “I knew that if I did my job well, I could bridge the gap between mainstream society and help to introduce tattooing into everyday life-without the process of getting tattooed,” says Timman.
To say the dinnerware designs have been a success would be an understatement as the designs were featured in Metropolitan Home’s Design 100 list in 2009. Be on the lookout for Paul’s new designs coming soon.
His award-winning dinnerware designs are sold online at www.inkdish.com and in fine retailers, notably Fred Segal.
